Control Unit failures

All connected IR tubes keep switching on and off repeatedly

If all IR tubes connected to a single IR Control Unit are toggling on and off continuously, follow these steps:

  1. Check the power supply
Ensure that the IR Control Unit is receiving stable power. If the unit is connected via a 3-phase supply, we strongly recommend having the connection inspected by a certified electrician.
  2. Inspect the fuses and differential switch
Turn off the power supply, then carefully open the Control Unit and check whether the internal fuses and differential switch are in good condition and properly functioning.Check whether or not the Control Unit's power supply is working as intended. We recommend having the 3-phase connection checked by a certified electrician.

IR tubes do not turn off after reaching the upper temperature threshold

If the IR tubes stay on despite the target temperature being reached, verify the following:

  1. Check the manual override switch
Make sure the manual override (the rotary switch on the outside of the Control Unit) is set to “Auto”.
  2. Reset the override mode
Rotate the switch from “Auto” to “Manual”, then back to “Auto” to ensure the setting is applied correctly.

Differential switch keeps tripping

If the Control Unit’s differential switch trips repeatedly:

  1. Disconnect power and check for moisture
Unplug the Control Unit and open the housing. Inspect the interior for any signs of water or moisture.
  2. Check the connected IR tubes
If no moisture is found inside the Control Unit, inspect the connected IR tubes. Moisture inside the tubes can also cause the differential switch to trip.

IR Tube failures

One or more sections of an IR tube are not working

If parts of an IR tube are no longer functioning, there are two options for resolving the issue:

  1. Repair the damaged sections
You can cut out the non-functioning sections (in 1-meter segments) and restore the IR tube using an official Frolight IR Tube Repair Kit.
  2. Request a replacement
If repair is not practical or preferred, you may request a full tube replacement. If the product is still under warranty, the replacement may be covered.

Control Panel

Can't access the Control Panel via Wi-Fi on your device?

If you're unable to open the Master IR Control Unit’s Control Panel at http://frolight.wlan, and you see an error such as “Page cannot be found”, try the steps below before contacting support:

  1. Check your Wi-Fi connection
Make sure your device is connected to the Master IR Control Unit’s Wi-Fi network.
The network will appear as: FLGCU-A-XXXX (with “XXXX” being a series of digits unique to your unit).
  2. Disable mobile data (if applicable)
If you're using a smartphone or tablet, ensure that mobile data is turned off.
Some devices prioritize mobile data over local Wi-Fi, which can prevent access to local IP addresses.
  3. Enter the full URL manually
Type the full address directly into your browser’s address bar: http://frolight.wlan
Don’t rely on auto-complete or search bars, as they may not recognize this local URL.
  4. Try a different browser
If the page still doesn’t load, try using a different web browser (e.g., switch from Safari to Chrome or from Chrome to Firefox).
